Learn how to use the Library’s Mark S. Goodenow Preservation Lab to digitize old photos, slides, cassette recordings, home movies, and more. We’ll walk you through the process for each type of media available. Feel free to bring your own photos, slides, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, or 8mm film.
Registration is required and space is limited. Contact the library to register: 507-537-7003, library@marshalllyonlibrary.org, or in person. Sessions are generally held at least once a month.
The Preservation Lab is free to use and open to the public. To use the Lab, you must be 18 or older; have a library card in good standing; complete training with Library staff on the equipment you intend to use; and have a Preservation Lab Agreement on file. Group training sessions are generally held at least once a month. Individual training is available as staff schedules allow. To schedule individual training or reserve a day in the lab, please contact the library.
