Lyon County Mechanic

Lyon County is hiring a full time Mechanic. Position purpose is to perform maintenance and repair services to Lyon County vehicles and equipment. Under the general supervision of the Highway Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance; repairs; rebuilding components; providing field service; and performing additional tasks as assigned. Hours vary to include seasonal 4 day work weeks and employees may be required to work additional hours as necessary, including early mornings and weekends during the winter hours.  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two year vocational/technical diploma in Heavy Equipment Repair, Diesel Mechanics, or related field. Must possess a Class "A" CDL upon hire, possess or obtain a tanker endorsement and a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector certificate. Position is overtime eligible with a salary range of $26.72-$37.40 and offers a full benefit package. Position open until filled.
