District Wide Evening Custodian

Marshall Public Schools is seeking applications for the position of Evening Custodian. This position is located District Wide. 

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. 
Current Special Boiler License needed or ability to obtain a Special Boilers License in the first three years of employment. Ability to obtain a Second-Class C Boilers License in the first 5 years of employment. 

Physical Requirements: Lifting, bending, pushing, and moving heavy objects, standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending at the waist. Required to stand for prolonged periods; occasionally required to move heavy objects such as furniture or equipment; required to operate power equipment such as buffers and scrubbers; may need to take precautions to avoid exposure to cleaning and stripping compounds and fumes; exposed to noise from power equipment; positions occasionally performing grounds maintenance which may require periodically working outdoors in inclement weather; potentially exposed to ordinary diseases carried by students; may need to take precautions to avoid exposure to student bodily fluids; may be required to be on call to return to work off hours for emergencies.

Working Conditions: Occasionally subjected to extremes of temperature, noise and vibrations. Atmospheric conditions occasionally include fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, and poor ventilation. Occasionally, personal protective equipment such as respirator, dust mask, gloves, eye protection and special clothing may be needed. Hazards: Occasionally subjected to mechanical and electrical hazards. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and related vapors.
 
Salary/Contract: Starting at $17.31 per hour. This position is 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends. This position is for the evening shift, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
